Jayne's quilt

This sweet crib quilt was made for an October arrival! I like how different fabrics have been intertwined to create basic squares, with sashing bringing them all together. The 'framing' fabric around the squares is carried to the backing. Very creative!!!

Lydia's Quilt

This is the fastest way to make a quilt yet! I bought a set of twin bed sheets (pillowcase, fitted and flat sheets in a package), a single flat sheet to contrast, and then put the two flats together (leafy one is the top sheet) (pink one is the flat $5. one, for the bottom).... and quilted it with this fun 'playful kittens' pattern. If you look closely, there are two kittens reaching for balls all throughout the design. She loves it!!! Very, very simple!!

Rochelle's Melanie Quilt

This is a very cute and simple girly quilt. Once again, the 'strip quilting' has been used, and then the sashing, along with the borders around the individual block make for a really fun, easy quilt. Good job, Rochelle!

Melissa's Planet Quilt

I loved the simplicity of this quilt! A simple 'log cabin' design, putting them side by side with the greens touching and forming the sashing down the middle. She completed the quilt with a full green on the two remaining sides, forming the 'frame' of the quilt. Good job, Melissa!!

Kayci's Preschool Teacher's Quilt

Very fun quilt! As the blocks were so detailed, I wanted the quilting to accent and not dominate. We tried to bring out the individual children and their handprints, so this required a lot of individual detailing. I loved the end result!! Good job, Kayci!!!

Dixie's 'Eagle' Quilt

This was my first 'multiple designs' quilting. How exciting!! Notice the detail that has gone into the center square, with the two Eagles in flight. The top picture shows the full quilt, with the pattern carrying through with Eagles in the two bottom corners as well. What sacred trust for something so honorable as an Eagle Scout!! Thank you, Dixie!!

Rochelle's Zoo Quilt

What a fun little boy quilt! I like how she's used alternating colors on the sides of the center block, creating almost a 'windmill' effect at the corners, also a 'weaved' look. The backing was creative as well, utilizing a variation with multiple pieces of 'zoo animals'. Good job!

Kayci's BYU Quilt

This was a fun one to quilt. The simplicity of the block design made the contrasting color of the quilting really jump out on the fabrics. Excellent job, Kayci!!

Melissa's Quilt

I love how she used three simple strips, and turned them directionally to form the pattern of the quilt. This is a very quick pattern, as you can actually make three extra long strips, sew them lengthwise, then go back and cut them to actual block size. Very nice!!

Jessi's Quilt

I like how Jessi created the 'cage' effect on the front with how she used her brown colors and then the long sashing between the blocks, bringing the front and back pieces together. Nicely done!!

Fun with Scraps!!

I had lots of "quilted" squares left from various quilts, and felt like sewing, so I put together this fun little quilt. I love the textures that go into the 'rag' quilts....so one side is 'ragged' and the other is smooth. Double click on the pictures, and I've tried to show the detailing....
