Our dear friends and adopted grandparents were "expecting" their first great granddaughter. They have been such wonderful friends to us, that we decided to make them a quilt for her. Here is the finished product! Thanks Tom & Bette!!
Please know that the intent of this blog isn't to show off the quilting, although it is to show you different pattern styles that have been used. The intent I've had with this blog is to give beginners and mid level quilters new ideas of what others have done, what colors they've put together, and just basic insights on putting together fabrics for quilts.
Your comments and insights help others, and that is our intent....to help others love this hobby and create heirlooms.
Thanks for the things I've been taught by you!!!!

How Anna's quilting business came to be:
Anna and her daughters (and even some of her sons) have been sewing for as long as I can remember. It is an integral part of our family.
Around the year 2000, Anna gained an interest in piece quilting. This was probably due to a variety of things. First, she had some wonderful friends in her ward who began a 'quilt block of the month' group; another, a grade school friend introduced her to a quilting retreat and new quilting friends which peaked further interest; and additionally, the births of her grandkids and wanting to leave each of her posterity a "piece" of her talents as her heritage.
Quilts and quilting have quickly become a passion of Anna's . Often you can find her down in her sewing haven, creating another heirloom. Each of her 12 kids and their children have fond memories of quilts or 'helping with quilts' as they pass through some of life's early stages.
In January of 2008 Anna and her husband, Kim, decided that it would be a great investment for her to purchase a Gammill Quilting Machine with the computerized Statler Stitcher. Since that time, she has been working with her husband and children to learn how her wonderful machine works and using it to put finishing touches on beautiful masterpieces for others.
